Corixa booby.

Now we're back on track, none of that lure nonsense, back to the imitative world; you know, "real" flyfishing.

This is the Corixa Booby. The foam back floats the fly allowing accurate fishing of bottom contours. This is really only an April pattern for me. Corixa don't live in deep water, but they still catch fish down there of course, and the trout do actually feed on corixa in April, so it all makes perfect sense.

Fish slowly with little darting movements - incidentally this is a great corixa imitation since corixa do actually swim like this.

Tying instructions:
Size 12, debarb, tie in strip of white ethafoam at bend. Seal fur body (yellow), mono rib, hen legs for paddles. Pull foam back over and tie off. Pantone the back in appropriate colours (black or brown).
