Hot orange minilure.
This used to be my middle dropper for surface daphnia... until I discovered pink. Now it's a river fly.
It's a good fly for wild rainbows (and browns actually), fished on a slime line on the top dropper with an imitative nymphet on the point. Cast upstream, mend upstream, follow the line with the tip and hang on as everything tightens up. Give a couple of pulls and recast. Handy on the Tongariro, believe it or not.
