Mouse.
Every 4, 5 or 7 years New Zealand experiences a mouse plague when the beech trees seed. I've fished NZ for the last 14 years and have never encountered this. That sucks.
Tying instructions:
a big hook, a wiggly tail (important trigger point of course), deer hair tied on top and pulled under, muddled a bit and stacked.
