It's not a 28, in fact it's still only a 20. But that's not the point; it should be a 28. Sorry about that.

Often dropping to an in-the-surface 28 picks out fish you wouldn't touch any other way. I "practiced" fishing 28's during ant rises back in the days before I became a travel bum. You get great hook holds and so long as you're the boss you can still land fish pretty quickly.

Tying instructions:
size 20 hook (pretend it's a 28) and then tie a very complicated fly. When you go this small it's critical you pay attention to details such as the correct number of tails, legs, appendages etc. As you can see mine is a total fuck up.
