It's not easy ok, I'm not a perfect flytyer. No... I'm above that. This is the next level. The one above perfection. We're not into that, "let's make our flies look nice" bullshit anymore. These are "fishing flies", you know, the secret ones the professionals use. Yeah, all us flycasting dudes use flies like this, and not because our casting's so good that we can get away with it either, but because these are the sexy flies that catch big fish. It takes a long time to tie a fly like this. Years of dedication to the art to get that crumpled hackle effect. You may never get it, face facts dude, some people won't. I've been doing this a long time now - over 20 years - so of course I'm going to have an edge. What do you expect? And I'm pretty talented too. I think it may even be a natural gift. I've met "professional flytyers", of greater experience than I, and they still can't get their flies to look like this. What I'm saying is, take it easy man, your flies don't have to be this good to catch fish. You may not catch as many fish as me, but you will still catch the odd one, here and there.
