22 June '07 - The Kit
Bit of a slow start, in fact I haven't tied a damn fly, although I wish I had. Of course I'm busy editing the Revolution and have cleverly managed to leave my bobbin holders in NZ. Fortunately a friend has kindly donated one (I tried to buy one, but I'm in the middle of nowhere). Anyway there's been a bit of a kit reorganisation, as you probably know I have two kits, one in NZ and a travelling one that I take everywhere apart from NZ [NZ likes to fumigate everything, which costs money and takes two weeks].
Something I've noticed is that I appear to have left all my threads in NZ as well! But apart from that and a distinct lack of the hooks that I actually need (must talk to Partridge), I'm pretty well sorted. I was going to list everything, but I can't see the point - just take my word for it that I have every material I'll ever need (apart from Claret and Fiery Brown seal's fur) and that everything in my box is roadkill.
[little note: this is of course complete bollocks, every time I go in a tackle shop I find something that I always needed but never knew existed]
Here you will notice that I have a small foam fetish and I like Zonkers:

Notice the two compartment boxes of roadkill seal. Very exciting those are. I've only had them a short while and before that my flytying kit looked like an explosion. Which it will of course again by the middle of next week:

More essential stuff:

OK what I would have liked to have had last week, but didn't, was a whole bunch of stillwater dries, some big rabbit lures, some medium size woolly buggers, some sexy dries and some little nymphets. So I'll probably tie a bunch before next Tuesday when this Blog really starts to happen and Babuska arrives.
On Monday I'll show you the biggest flies you've ever seen. They won't be sexy.
