1st July '07 - The Six
So of course this isn't the six flies I'd choose in one of those hypothetical Board questions, "If you could only tie six flies, what would you learn to tie Paul?"
No, these are six flies for fishing right now bearing in mind that I have three wet flies in another box, one Board swap and various back-to-front inside-out Christie Specials.
First up is a fly which evolved for me since Operation Fluff, so you won't find it there then, and at times it positively nails fish. Tungsten bead, medium lead, olive marabou tail, olive mottled chenille (no idea what it's really called - I just made that up), high grade road-kill Grizzle Hackle, tied palmered and ribbed with copper wire - or if you don't have any, some other colour - for example silver, as in this case (that's just to show you what to do if you run out and have to strip an electric cable).

Next: Claret Suspender. Not sure if this one is in the Operation either, actually I'm sure it was, no doubt as an emerger you'd use when the fish are eating olive buzzers. Of course back then I didn't know it was also the Callibaetis Cunnilingus. I found that out in Montana.

And of course the last one is just to keep Bob happy...
(it's a deer hair fuckup)

This is my tying workshop Lars and Matt:

Cheers.
